83 Yamaha 750 Maxim motorcycle

I have a 83 Yami 750 maxim I got from my neighbor. Bought new in '86. He was orig owner, 11,000 miles. He stopped riding 2-3 years ago & he left it outside covered. The cover blew off a year ago & it got some weathering. Nothing major, but it does have some corrosion on the alum. The seat is perfect & the tank is a 7/10. I spent part of the winter cleaning it up. Pulled the tank & flushed, pulled carbs, disassembled and cleaned. (I did not pull the rack apart, but carbs are currently disassembled) All the electrics work. I have 2 keys; new set of brake pads, clutch & brake cables, owner’s manual, nice back rest & luggage rack and few other bits.

I pulled the exh, because the collector was shot. Found a good replacement collector, but have not reinstalled the pipes. I buffed out some of the corrosion to a brushed alum look. Front tire is dry rotted, rear is not much better, but I have a decent used rear tire to put on.

I thought I was gonna take up riding, but changed my mind. A couple of more weekends of elbow grease & some tinkering & you will have a nice cruiser. These bikes are known to have bulletproof motors.

Anyway, I am selling it "AS IS" because I have not run it. I will try & get a compression test soon to report that. As she sits $500; if I decide to press on with the work it's more like $750 cleaned up & running.
